1951 Coffee Company

1951 Coffee Company

In January, 2017, First Pres Berkeley warmly welcomed 1951 Coffee Company (1951) to our campus as they opened the doors of their Café. Named for the 1951 Refugee Convention, 1951 provides recently arrived refugees with opportunities in the rapidly expanding coffee industry through their training and employment placement program. The Café onsite at First Pres Berkeley will employ 8 to 15 of these refugees annually. 1951 is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization with the mission to promote the wellbeing of the refugee community in the San Francisco Bay Area while also educating the surrounding community about refugee life and issues.
