Hotels

There are many hotels within walking and driving distance of First Pres Berkeley. The Berkeley Convention & Visitors' Bureau provides a list of housing options:

A limited number of opportunities exist for students to stay in homes of First Pres members during the conference. If you would like to inquire about such an arrangement, please contact the conference registrar at gccregistrar@fpcberkeley.org.

Airports

There are three airports that serve the Bay Area.

Oakland International Airport – 14 miles from downtown Berkeley

Childcare 

Childcare for children birth – 5th grade is offered for the Friday evening, Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon sessions. The cost is $10 per child per session. Reservations are required, and must be made by October 5. Please note that children are to be with their parents for Saturday lunch (lunch for children can be purchased onsite). There may be space for families completing registration after October 5; please contact Bobbi Zechar, First Pres Childcare Coordinator, at (510) 848-6242 ext. 276 or at bobbiz@fpcberkeley.org before the conference opens to check on availability. Regular Sunday School programs are offered for children of all ages during the Sunday morning and evening sessions; no reservations are needed.

Directions & Parking

Click here to find directions to the conference. The First Pres garage is available to conference attendees for all scheduled conference events at no charge. We ask that First Pres members and friends make every effort to use the Sather Gate parking garage, which will be available Thursday-Sunday, October 16-19, during regular business hours. An access card is needed for entry and exit.

Places to Eat

There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance of First Pres Berkeley. Follow the links for eating on Telegraph Ave (one block from First Pres) and eating around Berkeley.
