Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity's mission is to work in partnership with God and people everywhere, from all walks of life, to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which every person can experience God's love and can live and grow into all that God intends. Click here for more information about Habitat for Humanity. Partnership opportunities are listed below.

East Bay Builds
Tassafaronga Village and Bay Point

Spend a day building in the East Bay! First Pres is partnering with Habitat East Bay, serving Alameda and Contra Costa counties, to provide low-cost housing for those in need within our community. No tools or construction experience needed! Volunteer opportunities are available Wednesday through Saturdays, 8:30 am-4 pm. Sign up in advance at www.habitateb.org/volunteer. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

    Hurricane Katrina Relief Teams

To date, First Pres has sent over 17 teams and nearly 200 volunteers to the greater New Orleans area to help with the extensive rebuilding efforts. We would like to continue to show our support by sending more teams to work alongside of those tirelessly working to rebuild communities. If you are interested in supporting the Katrina Relief effort, please visit the Habitat website for information on donating or joining a team: http://www.habitat.org/cd/gv/schedule.aspx.

    Global Village Teams

Habitat for Humanity International's Global Village trips give participants a unique opportunity to become active partners with people of another culture. Team members work alongside of members of the host community, raising awareness of the burden of poverty housing and building decent, affordable housing worldwide.
