Middle school is often a time of great transition; our ministry seeks to help pre-teens develop a strong relationship with Jesus Christ amid the changes. Under the umbrella of Middle School Ministries, we offer Sunday and midweek programs for 5th/6th graders and 7th/8th graders. Read about our regular programming below; to download registration forms for special events, click here. For more brochures and forms, please visit our Parent Resources page.

Questions? Please contact Joel Moody, Middle School Coordinator, at (510) 848-6252 ext. 268 or at joelm@fpcberkeley.org.

Route 56 (5th-6th)
Route 56 is especially for 5th and 6th grade students. We use "storying" (a method presented by Mike Novelli in Shaped by the Story) as we play and pray in God's name, take time for worship, and delve into the many stories found in the Bible.

Dates & Times: Sundays, 10-11:15 am
Location: Rooms W306 and W307, Westminster Hall

Metro (7th-8th)
Metro is our Sunday morning learning community for 7th and 8th graders. Students experience a group building game; a time of music, worship, and physical response; and a time to engage with Scripture using pop culture; a teaching/preaching moment; and small groups. During the summer, 5th and 6th graders also join in on the fun.

Dates & Times: Sundays, 10:00-11:15 am
Location: Middle School Room, (Room M201, McKinley Hall)

Rooted – Midweek Programming for 7th-8th Graders
Rooted is a Thursday night small group for 7th and 8th graders. We begin with dinner (7:00-7:30 pm), meet in a large group for games and fellowship, then break into small groups to check in with one another about the issues students face in their daily lives. This time is intended to build deeper relationships among the students in our ministry. If your student is looking for better connections with advisors and other youth, this is the place!

Dates & Times: Thursdays, 7-9 pm
Dinner Cost: $3
Location: Westminster Gym
