Worship @ First Pres

Worship is central to our life together as a church. Whatever the style of music or the structure of service, we seek to enter the presence of God and hear the Holy Spirit's voice anew. You can read descriptions of our worship services below. If you are new to First Pres, please click here for more information or to plan a visit.

9:45 am
Sunday Morning

The first morning service offers a traditional style of worship in a vibrant and multi-generational context. We seek to embrace the richness and beauty of the timeless liturgy and music of the church. Join in singing hymns and songs of praise led by the Chancel Choir, organ, instruments, and soloists; engage in thought-provoking teaching and opportunities to connect and serve. We hope that you will find a sacred place where you can experience the love of God in community.

11:27 am
Sunday Morning

The eleven:27 strives to be a community as varied as that found in Berkeley, with the hope that all feel welcome. The eleven:27 is casual in nature, incorporating a variety of contemporary music styles and thoughtful teaching. There are opportunities to worship through tangible acts of compassion and justice as an inspiration to carry the hope of the gospel beyond the church walls. Lunch and fellowship at the Rendezvous immediately follows this service.

5:05 pm
Sunday Evening

The 5:05 is our contemporary evening worship service. We are a diverse community that draws from the Cal campus, Berkeley, and the greater East Bay. This service features dynamic music and engaging teaching. It is also a great starting place toward opportunities to connect, grow, and serve. The 5:05 desires to be a place where people can ask hard questions and seek truth without formality or pretense. Dinner and fellowship at the Bistro immediately follows this service.
