It involves curiosity, exploration, and practice, and we find that we follow more closely and have more fun when we do it together. We invite you to explore Formation at First Pres, where there are varied opportunities to be shaped, formed, and transformed by Scripture and community. Come learn, grow, and make new friends!
Community Groups
Our community groups provide space to make friends, explore scripture, and share life’s challenges and blessings. In the fall (and again during Lent), our First Pres Parishes host groups in neighborhoods throughout the Bay Area and online. Our conversations are guided by questions based upon the weekly message from the fall sermon series.

Classes and Events
On 2nd–last Sundays, we gather after worship for Formation Hour, a time to go deeper into Scripture and discover how God’s Word speaks to issues we face in our lives, our communities, our country, and the world. Whether through conversations, lectures, thought-provoking classes, Bible studies, or book groups, let’s learn and grow together.
