First Pres Reception Lobby Service Opportunity

One practical way to serve our First Pres community is to be a welcoming presence in our Reception Lobby on Sunday mornings. Whether helping direct people to locations around our campus or answering general questions, you can offer a helping hand to those in need.   We are looking for team members who can serve one Sunday each month (or more frequently) from 9 am to 1 pm. November 13 Worship Service Moved to 5 pm

Due to the Berkeley Half-Marathon road closures, the 10:30 am morning worship service and children's program will be moved to 5 pm. Please note, the First Pres parking garage closes at 7 pm on Sundays. Our campus will be closed until 12 pm. All 9 am and after worship morning classes and programs will be on Zoom or will not meet. First Pres Campus Has Officially Reopened

First Pres Campus has officially reopened!  We move forward with renewed faith and new hope as to what will take place on our open campus on Mondays to Saturdays from 7:30 am–10 pm and Sundays 7:30 am–6 pm: The public, including college students, will be present on campus, enjoying the plaza and other spaces and offering opportunities for us to meet and welcome others. Worship is now available in person and virtually every Sunday. We are grateful to be in community with you and want to share some safety guidelines for worship gatherings in the Sanctuary: Do not come to campus with COVID-19 or even with mild cold symptoms, such as sore throat, dry cough, stuffy/runny nose, headache, and body aches. Face masks are strongly encouraged but are no longer required in the Sanctuary during worship. Full vaccination is recommended including a booster when eligible. Summer Sermon Series Launch

We are please to announce the launch of our summer sermon series. Every year after Pentecost, the church moves into the liturgical season of Ordinary Time — the liminal space between Easter and Advent. Yet this season is anything but ordinary. This summer, as we venture into exciting unknowns, we will rest in the time-honored tradition of preaching the lectionary. Originating in the time of Moses, the lectionary offers the church a rich and complete picture of Scripture by appointing texts from the Old and New Testaments and the Psalms.
