Enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation with Pastor Tom and others as he guides us on a journey through the Book of Revelation. Likely the least read and most feared, this text has fascinated and puzzled Christians for centuries. Revelation is a mysterious gift, a work of intense imagination that pulls its reader into a world of sky battles between angels and beasts, lurid punishments, and glorious salvations.
While generally agreed that the Revelation has to do with the “last things”, this 11-week adventure invites us to explore how the “ending” impinges upon the present, where things passing and things to come grapple with each other. We will soak in the theological poetry and vivid imagery, and consider the structure, symbolism, genre, and context of the unveiling of this mysterious text. On this journey, the message and meaning of the Revelation come into focus, illuminating our seeing, reviving the imagination, and evoking awe and wonder in God and God’s story.
