Emmaus Communities

Emmaus Communities (ECs) are groups of 20 to 60 adults at varying stages of life and faith. We meet every Sunday for conversation and study, engaging the deep questions of faith and looking beyond pat answers to a fuller understanding of how God’s wisdom shapes our lives.

Adventures with Scripture

Join us this year in ECs as we explore the many facets of scripture, holding the Bible up to the light and looking carefully at:

  • The text itself: paying attention to its significant literary features.
  • Behind the text: taking note of historical and cultural context.
  • In front of the text: exploring how our social location and traditions influence the way we read scripture.

Whether you have been studying the Bible for years or are just picking it up for the first time, we hope these shared explorations will illuminate new insights and inspire you to read, interpret, pray, and live out Scripture more deeply.

Find an Emmaus Community

We have three communities ranging in size from 20+ participants (ECs 4/1 and 5) to 65 participants (EC 3). Each EC upholds the community values in their own unique way. You are invited to “stop by” any of our EC gatherings on Sunday mornings. Leaders from each of our communities are eager to connect with you to share more information and welcome you.
