Mental Health Symposium
May 14 @ 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the First Pres Community Care Department is hosting the Family Education and Resource Center (FERC) of Oakland as they provide information and their expertise for families, friends, and neighbors of those experiencing Mental Health struggles. The program will begin a 9 am in the Sanctuary on May 14. We will begin with an overview of who FERC is and what they do: “You are not alone: We’ve been there, we can help”.
After a break, with snacks and beverage, there will be three breakout sessions to choose from:
1) Caring for Youth under 18,
2) My loved one has been arrested,
3) Advocating for adults (18 and over) and Older Adults.
Please click here to register for one of the breakout sessions. Registration is not required, but will help us organize groups in advance. All information will be kept confidential.
We will re-group for a hopeful closing session together to review “self-care for the cargiver.”
