2023 Stewardship Campaign
There’s still time to pledge!
At First Pres, we invite you to share in supporting the ministries and mission of the church for our congregation, community, and the world. During our annual stewardship campaign, we invite you— who call First Pres Berkeley your church home—to prayerfully consider what you can pledge financially to the church in the coming year so we can effectively plan the next year’s ministries and related budgets.
How do you experience belonging and engaging at First Pres?
This year’s theme is an encouragement for you to explore and celebrate the ways you and this church “belong in Christ, and engage the world,” so that we may be even more faithful and impactful from our corner of Dana and Channing. Whether it is through our outreach efforts that honor the most basic of human needs or our worship and programs that address our deepest spiritual needs, First Pres is committed to embodying our belonging in Christ by engaging the world in a way consistent with Jesus’ life and teachings. One tangible way we can do that is through the spiritual discipline of stewardship.
General Fund gifts provide for our hardworking staff and the diverse, life-giving ministries of the church. For 2022, our annual giving target was supported by faithful pledge commitments of $2.46 million from members and regular attenders. For 2023, our target is $2.5 million to secure 70% of our giving target.
Participation matters! If you give regularly to the church—including via electronic funds transfer (ACH) or PayPal automatic payments—would you commit to an annual pledge? If you are not a regular giver, would you consider making a financial commitment? If you regularly pledge, please continue to do so!
