Welcome to First Pres; we can’t wait to meet you.
Whether you are looking for a place to go deeper in faith, finding your way back to church, or just curious about God, you are welcome at First Pres. You don’t have to have it all figured out—we certainly don’t—to belong here.
Join us for worship on Sundays at 10:30 am, in person or online. Our service lasts about an hour.
If you’re coming in person, we invite you to come 15 minutes early to park and enjoy a cup of coffee on the Patio.
Directions & Parking
First Pres is located on the corner of Dana Street and Channing Way, a block from Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley. Our campus is open to the public on Sundays 7:30 am–6 pm and Mondays to Saturdays from 7:30 am–10 pm.
Sunday worship visitors and those with mobility issues may park free of charge in our garage, accessible via Channing Way.
The Telegraph Channing Garage, located on Channing across the street from First Pres, is also open for Sunday worship parking from 8 am–10 pm. Take a ticket when you enter and validate it at First Pres Reception. (Validation is available only for Sunday worship and special events as noted.)
On other days of the week, parking is available in our garage via pre-arrangement with a staff person for church business (meetings, pastoral appointments, etc.) and for special events. There is no parking on Cal football home game days.
Get ready to have fun in Children’s & Family Ministry! Our nursery, preschool, and elementary school programs are led by loving caregivers and teachers who have gone through background checks and training.
Children of all ages are always welcome in worship! Help yourself to activity packets and coloring supplies located in the Narthex at the Dana St. entrance to the Sanctuary. Nursery and preschool care is offered during the entire worship hour, while K–4th graders begin worship in the Sanctuary; after the passing of the peace, they have the option to continue worship in Westminster Hall in children’s programming or remain in the service with their families.
Nursing parents are welcome to nurse wherever they feel comfortable; for your convenience, we also have a Hospitality Room for nursing or changing little ones.
We would love to connect with you! If you are in need of prayer, want to meet with a pastor, or have questions about the church, let us know. If you’re interested in getting on the church mailing list, we can help with that. Just fill out a Connect Card, located in the Sanctuary pews, and bring it to the Welcome Tent after the service—we’d love to greet you and give you a small gift.
You can also connect with us online and we’ll get in touch! For more information, contact Janet Sanders at [email protected].
