A description of the work of the 2020–2021 Nominating Committee is below.
The Nominating Committee is looking for candidates who are dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ and are willing to serve the First Pres community with their spiritual gifts, skills, and experiences. Ideally, these individuals will be reflective of the range of backgrounds and experiences of the congregation.
This year, the Nominating Committee is looking for:
- At least 10 new Deacons
- Up to 7 new Elders
- 6 Nominating Committee Members
- Student Delegates*
- 6-8 individuals to form an Associate Pastor Nominating Committee (APNC) who will search for two Pastors to lead the departments of Christian Formation and Missional Engagement.
* Student Delegates are selected in partnership between the Nominating Committee and First Pres student ministries (Marked, FoCUS). Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Each of these one-page summaries provide an overview of these various leadership roles; more detailed descriptions can be found in the resource section.

Feel free to send recommendations or questions to the Nominating Committee at email@example.com.
In response to recommendations, the Nominating Committee will reach out to invite the person to complete an interest form. It is highly recommended that you also talk with the person you are recommending- share about why you think they would be a great leader and encourage them to complete the interest form.
Thank you for your interest and participation!
