We received a letter and card from our friends at Project Mercy and thought we’d share it with our First Pres family!

Dear congregation of First Presbyterian Church Berkeley,

Blessings of the Lord and greetings from Ethiopia. We pray and trust that you are well. We wanted to reach out and let you know how much we have appreciated and been blessed and strengthened by your standing with us through a rather challenging 2020. Your faithfulness in prayer and support has been tremendous. The education, health, nutrition, vocation and clean water programs have all continued to bless the community. Thank the Lord, the Yetebon community added one more church for worship first near the foothills on the mountain. This addition makes it a total of four churches, where there were none.

This one of a kind card of the first church in Yetebon, and was hand-painted for us by one of the children we raised at Project Mercy. The young man is now in the second year of university. We trust you like the piece of art as much as we do.

Blessings and best regards from,

Martha, Deme and the Project Mercy team in Ethiopia.
