Many from the First Pres community were involved in helping to create the Turning Point Sanctuary Garden (check out this video to learn more), and we want to continue caring for it by doing some maintenance, weeding, replanting, and more. We are excited to gather on the church patio around the iron cross to make lunches for our neighbors! Drop in between 10:30 AM-11:30 AM. We will make the lunches from about 10:30AM-11:15AM, and at 11:15 CityTeam will pick up the lunches while the rest of us clean up. Sign up here if you'd like to join in!
Arthur Ammann, a beloved long-time member of First Pres, passed away last year on August 15, 2021. A memorial for Art will be held tomorrow at First Pres on Saturday, May 21 at 1 pm. Join Rev. Dr. Charlene Han Powell in the Sanctuary with Rev. Molly Baskette from First Church Berkeley, Rev. Amos Disasa from First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, and Rev. Dr. David Vásquez-Levy from Pacific School of Religion as we ponder together what it means to be a community of faith in this newer reality. Children and youth programming will also be available.

In this season, we are focusing on rebuilding Christian community after a long time apart. At each care location, loving volunteers tell stories from the Bible, model Christian community, and invite children into a play-based program that prioritizes healthy interaction, kindness, and sharing.
