We are First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley—but please, just call us First Pres.

We have been worshiping here, on the corner of Dana and Channing Streets, since 1902. But our ministry in Berkeley goes back even further, all the way to 1878.

Today we are a vibrant, welcoming community of people of all ages, ethnicities, backgrounds, and circumstances. A member congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA), we are committed to a ministry of worship, service, mission outreach, pastoral care, and spiritual growth.

We invite you to join us. Explore our website to learn more about our history, our mission and values, our people, and our ministries. Then consider taking the next step:

Join us on a Sunday. Visit our This Sunday page for details about how you can safely attend worship with us.

Sundays at First Pres are all about connecting. Our services are intergenerational, multi-faceted, and diverse in community. We respond to God’s grace, engage society’s injustices, and bear hope in a hurting world.

We have programs and activities for children, youth, college students, and adults of all ages—including time for connection, growing together in faith, fellowship, and service.
