WORSHIP
Holy Week
Palm Sunday Worship (April 2, 10:30 am, Sanctuary) All ages are invited to wave palm branches for Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem and begin our Holy Week journey to the cross. We are excited to have children, Kinder and older, participate in the processional and join their families for worship in lieu of regular children’s programming. Regular programming will be available for ages two to Pre-K on the 2nd floor of the Westminster Building, room W214 (Teddy Bear Lair).
Palm Sunday Concert/Ice Cream Social (April 2, 3 pm, Sanctuary/Plaza) The First Pres Concert Choir will present a dynamic presentation of Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass in the Sanctuary followed by a festive ice cream social in the Plaza. All are welcome and admission is free! Free parking is available in the First Pres garage (no validation needed) and the Telegraph Channing Garage (validate Telegraph Channing tickets at First Pres Reception).
We need servers for the ice cream social. If you’re interested in signing up, contact [email protected].
Maundy Thursday (April 6, 6–7:30 pm, Plaza, if raining Gym) Join us for a community dinner 6-6:30 pm on the Plaza followed by a communion service 6:30-7:30 pm. All ages are welcome.
Good Friday (April 7, 7 pm, Sanctuary) Meditate on Christ’s suffering and death through The Way of the Cross, a Tenebrae service that uses music, dramatic readings, enabling us to witness God’s passionate love.
Easter Sunday (April 9, 9 am and 11 am, Sanctuary) We celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Children of all ages are invited to participate in this joyful service with their families in the Sanctuary. There will be no regular children’s programming.
Children’s Worship Program (Two years through Pre-K, Westminster Hall, W214; K–4th Grade, W204) Loving volunteers tell stories from the Bible, model Christian community, and invite children into a play-based program, prioritizing healthy interaction, kindness, and sharing. Please check specific worship programs for relevant children’s programming availability.
